Culture and Religion in India
Nigel Ajay Kumar, until recently the Head of the Theology Department at SAIACS (Bengaluru, India), is an Indian theologian and writer. His PhD research was on the definition of “religion” in the context of the growing discontent with “religion” terminology. Having a background in film journalism, magazine and book publishing, Nigel comes with experience in Indian media and culture. To that he adds an interest in contextual theology and, as a Christian songwriter, in Christian music for the Church. He is currently a Research Scholar with the SAIACS Centre for South Asia Research (CSAR), for whom he is completing a book on Theological Research Methodology.
